Scared of the Dark
My daughter is 5 yrs old and scared of the dark. I have tried every trick I can think of to keep her in her room at night. Nightlight, decorated her room to her liking, and put a bunk bed in that she enjoys. Yet, every night she still sneaks into our room. She makes a pallet of blankets on the floor next to our bed. There is no privacy for me and my husband in our own room. I'm running out of ideas to keep her in her room. I can't leave the tv on in her room to help her sleep. She will literally stay up all night watching tv. A cup of warm milk at night does not work. We tell her that her dog is awake keeping a watch of the house. It does not work. Imagine, having to wake up in the middle of the night, dark, trying to manuver around her so I don't step on her to either use the bathroom or pat the baby down back to sleep. There is a futon in the baby's room, and she won't sleep in it. Why? Because the baby wakes her up at night. Can't seem to win. I just hope to starts to grow out of it soon.
